Imagine that you are doing a project on what countries Moscow university students would like to visit in summer. You have found some data on the subject – the results of the opinion polls (see the table below). Comment on the data in the table and give your opinion on the subject of the project.

Write 200–250 words.

Use the following plan:

– make an opening statement on the subject of the project; 
– select and report 2–3 facts; 
– make 1–2 comparisons where relevant and give your comments; 
– outline a problem that can arise while traveling abroad and suggest a way of solving it; 
– conclude by giving and explaining your opinion on what influences our choice of tourist destination.

Today in Moscow, many university students can afford a summer trip abroad. Almost half of the respondents choose Europe and want to visit France. This is easy to understand, because France and its capital Paris are the center of cultural life in Europe. The second most popular tourist destination with 19% of respondents is America. Moscow students know American life quite well from popular movies, but of course it is better to see everything with your own eyes.
 
About the same number of students want to go to Great Britain as to America. These two countries are ideal travel destinations for those who want to improve their English. However, the number of respondents who choose English-speaking countries is almost 2.5 lower than the number of those who want to go to France. And those who chose China are almost half as many as those who would like to visit America. This is because China is still a very distant and somewhat alien culture to Russian people.

When you go to another country, it is important to be able to explain yourself to the locals. Lack of knowledge of French can lead to difficulties during the trip. Therefore, I can recommend that Moscow students take short French courses.

In conclusion, it should be noted that Moscow students have a variety of tourist preferences. However, they are more attracted to European countries and America. Obviously, this choice is influenced by culture. In Russia we watch much more European and American movies.
