Speaker A.
I know quite a few people who claim that distance learning has only advantages and no disadvantages. I agree that it is very convenient to study online, but I think we are forgetting one very important thing. Distance learning means that we spend all day in front of a computer monitor. Even our professors we only see on the screen. What about live human interaction? I am afraid that online learning will finally wean us from communicating with each other. If this continues, we won't even be able to make friends.
Speaker B.
We often hear talk about how important education is. But there is one problem that is often forgotten, and it is especially relevant to Russia. There are many remote regions in Russia with poorly developed transportation systems, where there are no universities or modern schools at all. This could put an end to many young people's dreams of a quality education. However, with the advent of the Internet, everything has changed. Thanks to Internet education, many residents of the northern regions of Russia and the Far East can get a modern and in-demand profession. This does not mean that we should give up building new schools, but it shows well at least one advantage of online education.
Speaker C.
I believe that the internet should change the way we approach education. Thanks to information technology, we can learn many professions from the comfort of our homes. There is no need to waste time on traveling while studying. In addition, you can choose any teacher you like, instead of studying with the one assigned to you, as in a regular school. All lectures and educational materials are always available online. Tests can also be taken remotely. I don't understand those who are in favor of preserving traditional schools and universities. Internet education is our future.
Speaker D.
In my opinion, those who praise distance learning do not realize that not all skills can be taught online. When it comes to graphic design or foreign languages, online courses can indeed be very useful. But how do you train a chemical technologist or a surgeon online? These professions need practical skills that can only be learned at traditional universities and only from real people who have relevant experience. Therefore, online learning will never replace traditional education. The Internet is a powerful tool, but it has its limitations.
Speaker E.
For the entire 20th century, the only things in a school teacher's arsenal were a piece of chalk, a blackboard, and a pointer. No matter what the teacher was talking about, he could only write with chalk on the blackboard. Today the situation is completely different. Many textbooks have links to interactive materials available on the Internet. After reading a chapter in a textbook, a student can follow the link and learn more from an article on the Internet, which often has audio and video materials. Therefore, the Internet has greatly empowered teachers today. Many people learn lessons better by ear, and someone is more interested in watching a video than reading a text. All in all, the Internet can really make education more effective.
Speaker F.
I really like taking online classes and I see a lot of advantages in it. Some people may say that such classes deprive me of social skills, this statement does not apply to me, because I always find time for live communication with my friends. But I began to notice that sitting in front of a monitor for an entire day was giving me neck and eye pain. I've often heard doctors warn that sitting in front of a computer for long periods of time is harmful, but to be honest, I never realized that it could affect my health so much. This means that the doctors are right, and I need to be more careful about how much time I spend in front of the monitor.
